Covid-19 Update: As COVID-19 continues to disrupt our daily lives, our goal is to keep our crews and the communities we service as healthy as possible. Unfortunately it is possible you may experience delays in service as we continue to feel the impact caused by the virus.

Since the start of COVID, we have experienced a much higher volume of trash, recycling, and yard debris from households each week. While ALL our services remain essential, our main focus will be collecting trash and recycling material first. During this fall season we have found the volume of yard debris to be extremely difficult to manage. If any of your material is not collected on your normal service day, rest assured we will return to pick up your material as soon as possible. In some cases, it may be as long as a week delay with yard waste collection. During the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks we ask that you please spread out your trash and recycling material between collection days to help ensure collection.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to live and work in unpredictable times.

Yard Waste Collection Update: Processing facilities are beginning to phase out the use of plastic bags for yard waste collection. Many residents have already made the change from plastic bags to compostable paper bags or rigid plastic containers. Effective January 1st, 2021, ADS will no longer collect yard debris in plastic bags.

**Yard debris collection reminder**: Residents must use compostable paper bags for grass clippings and leaves. Personal cans may be used; however, they need to be marked “yard debris”. Tree limbs and brush must be no longer than 4 feet in length and 3 inches thick in diameter. These items must be tied with rope or twine in arm length bundles. We will collect a maximum of 10 bags of grass clippings and/or leaves, and 10 bundles of brush per pick up. There will be an extra charge if you would like to schedule additional removal of these items. Please call in advance for pricing and to schedule. Items that are bagged and bundled are not to exceed 50 lbs. Concrete, rocks, mulch, sod, and dirt are not accepted.

These compostable paper bags can be purchased online or found at the grocery store and warehouse stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, or any garden centers.

Trash pickup days are Monday and Thursday. Recycle pickup day is Monday.

  • Trash cans should be stored out of sight. Do not put your trash/recyclables out prior to 6 PM on the night before a pick up. No trash or recycling containers shall be kept in the front or side yard, porch, or entryway.
  • Please put all household trash in a securely tied, heavy-duty trash bag and place it in a tightly-covered trash can. Covered trash cans MUST be used when putting out your trash for pick up. Paper or plastic bags are not acceptable for trash removal due to the likelihood of animals breaking into them.
  • Please secure your recyclables! We have received reports of runaway recyclables. Blowing recyclables and trash become an added expense to the community because the HOA has to pay someone to clean it up. Please be mindful!

Reminders for Winter/Holidays

Check ADS’ website to see if Collection is suspended due to weather.

Check ADS’ Holiday Pickup Schedule.

Christmas trees are collected on the regular yard waste pickup day. Remove all tinsel and decorations from trees and do not place trees in plastic bags.

Safety in your community is ADS’s primary concern. Roads and/or areas which are deemed unsafe due to snow or ice will be suspended for collection. If suspension occurs, services will resume on the next regularly scheduled collection day.

What is accepted in Regular Trash?

Everyday generated trash is household trash, for example, kitchen and bathroom trash. For more information on Household Hazardous Waste contact the Loudoun County Division of Waste Management.

What is accepted in the Recycling collection?

Refer to Recycling Guide graphic below. ADS now uses Single Stream Recycling, a new technology that allows participants to place all of their recyclables into one container. This type of recycling eliminates the need to separate glass, paper, cardboard, aluminum, steel, etc. into separate bins; which, in turn eliminates the necessity of multiple collection containers.

Do not put recycling in plastic bags for disposal. Cardboard boxes need to be flattened out.
