Dear Colonnade HOA Residents,

As the fall season begins, American Disposal Services would like to share important reminders

Fall Yard Waste Guidelines

Grass clippings and leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper yard waste bags. Personal containers may also be used when clearly marked “Yard Waste.”

Tree limbs and brush must be no longer than 4 feet and no more than 3 inches in diameter. Secure brush with rope or twine in manageable bundles.

We will collect up to 10 bags of grass clippings and/or leaves and up to 10 bundles of brush per pickup.

Each bag or bundle must weigh no more than 50 pounds.

Rocks, concrete, dirt, sod, tree stumps, and mulch are not accepted.

Leaf and Brush Preparation

Please keep yard waste separate from household trash and recycling. Do not place loose leaves, branches, or brush at the curb. Properly bagged and bundled material helps our crew’s complete collection safely and prevents debris from entering streets and storm drains.

Recycling Reminder

Please flatten the cardboard boxes and place all recyclable materials inside the recycling container. Keep recyclables loose and do not place them in plastic bags. If the container is full, space additional recyclable material across future collection days when possible.

Christmas Tree Collection

Christmas trees will be collected during the first two weeks of January on your scheduled yard waste day. Remove all decorations, lights, tinsel, and stands before placing the tree’s curbside. Do not place trees in plastic bags.

Inclement Weather and Safety

The safety of our employees and the communities we serve is our primary concern. Collection may be suspended in roads or areas considered unsafe because of snow, ice, fallen trees, flooding, or other hazardous conditions. Service will resume as soon as conditions allow. Please visit our website or use the American Disposal Services mobile app for service updates.

Keep Collection Areas Clear

Place containers where they are visible and accessible to the collection vehicle. Please keep containers away from parked vehicles, mailboxes, low-hanging branches, leaf piles, and other obstacles. Containers should be placed at the curb by your community’s required set-out time.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your community. Please forward this information to all board members, property managers, and residents. If you have questions, contact our Customer Service Department at 703-368-0500, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or visit our website.
